First Day of Issue
On 31st December 1974, Panama struck a quantity of its new 100 Balboa gold proof coins sealed in an attractive card folder. We can probably do no better than quote from the wording of the card itself.
The 1975
One Hundred Balboa Gold Coin
of the Republic of Panama
The proof coin contained within this sealed cachet was struck and issued at The Franklin Mint on December 31, 1974, on the first day of minting after removal of the U.S. governments 41 year ban on ownership of modern gold coins.
