Description
Most of the San Marino 5 scudo coins have a new obverse and reverse design each year, as they are issued mainly for collectors, although the obverse usually is based on the theme of its three towers.

1979 5 Scudi
Obverse
Three plumes or feathers with the value 5 SCUDI superimposed, and the date 1979 below. The legend (inscription) REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO appears around the border.

Reverse
Three intertwined arms and hands, apparently symbolising the theme "Peace". We have no further knowledge of the details or explanation for this design. As and when we find out more, we will publish it here.
