Year 2000 Gold Five Pounds
Bullion Version Issued
Year 2000 gold five pounds will be available in a "bullion" version, at a low premium over gold.
This is the first time ever that ordinary bullion five pound coins have been produced, and offered for sale as a low premium bullion coin.
Way back in 1902, five pound gold coins were issued for circulation, but even then, they were probably mainly hoarded as curiosities and keepsakes as the modern cupro-nickel £5 crowns are nowadays.

The issue limit, at 10,000 is quite modest. We believe they will be very popular.
Although we sold our our original stocks years ago, we do make an acive market in these coins, together with the "Brilliant Uncirculated" version.
