2004 British Gold 3 Coin Proof Sets - In Stock Now
Gold Sovereign Series
Each year since 1980, the Royal Mint have produced sets of 3 and 4 coins in the gold soveriegn series. The 3 coin sets consist of a sovereign, half sovereign and double sovereign or two pound piece.

St. George & Dragon Reverse
For 2004, the sovereign and half sovereigns feature the traditional St. George and dragon design, and the two pound coin is the commemorative version, as noted below.
Issue Limits
For 2001, the issue limit was only 1,500. The issue limits for 2002 were increased considerably to 5,000 because of the Golden Jubilee celebrations. For 2004 the issue limit has returned to 2,500.
Design News
In previous years the 3 coin and 4 coin sovereign collections have usually contained all coins of the same design, however in a number of years, the two pound coin included with the sets has been the commemorative version instead. For 2004, there will be a change. The three coin sets will contain the Steam Engine commemorative two pound, while the four coin sets will contain the St. George and Dragon version.
