Bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar 1805 - 2005
In 2005, the British Royal Mint are issuing a gold proof five pound crown, for the bi-centenary of the Battle of Trafalgar. We expect this issue to be very popular, as it commemorates Britain's greatest naval victory, or should that be Victory? The issue limit has also been reduced to only 1,805 pieces. This compares very favourably with 7,500 issued in 1999 of the Princess Diana Memorial issue.

Gold Silver and Base Metal Versions

Death of Nelson Bicentennial Crown
There was also a crown issued for the bi-centenary of the death of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
