After the special one-year-only design in 2005, half sovereigns and sovereigns reverted to the traditional reverse design of St. George slaying the dragon.

In Stock Now
Gold proof half sovereigns in stock now for immediate delivery. Issue limits were reduced to 5,000 in 2006, and are the same for 2007.
The Royal Mint's price on the 2006 proof version was increased to £96.50, and we guess they may increase the 2007 proofs further.
Changes!
It appears that the reverse dies for sovereigns, half sovereigns, double sovereigns and quintuple sovereigns have been remastered and recut in 2007. See our 2007 sovereigns page of our Gold Sovereigns website for more information.
Advance Orders
As in other recent years, we will be placing a large advance order for both proof and uncirculated half sovereigns. We offer them at advance order prices for a short time.
Uncirculated Bullion Version
Issue Limits
For 2007, the issue limit is expected to be set at a maximum of 75,000. This is the same as for 2005.
The issue limit for the proof versions as stated above is 5,000.
