Brief History
The Chinese Lunar Calendar is based on a 12 year cycle, each year in the cycle is associated with a different animal. The Perth Mint in Australia started issuing series of Chinese Lunar Calendar Coins, in gold and silver, in 1996, which was the Year of the Rat. We rarely manage to buy any of the older years, which tend to be very hard to source. We recommend that you buy this year's coins when we have them available.
The Chinese year 4706 is the year of the rat, and runs from February 7th 2008 to January 25th 2009.
If you do fancy owning a complete collection of the 1 kilo gold lunar series, please contact us to discuss them.
Large Mouses - One Kilo
The large bullion coin sizes, above 1 ounce, are also available in the Lunar Calendar series. We can offer these as follows:-
The prices quoted are sample prices based on gold at £300 per ounce. Please contact us for current spot pricing.
