Henry VIII Half Sovereign
The Half-Sovereign was first introduced by Henry VIII as part of his Third Coinage in 1544. Its first full-sovereign counterpart had been introduced under his father and predecessor Henry VII.
This Half-Sovereign is probably the oldest we have ever had in stock, and was, like its more modern counterpart, worth 10 shillings at the time it was in circulation.
