At Chard we like to think that our prices always offer good value for the high quality products we have come to pride ourselves on, but occasionally our stock levels mean that we can offer even better value on some products for a limited time only.
Unlike some high street stores who bring out the rubbish during stock clearances all our products are high quality product lines, just at exceptionally low prices!
Premiums Fluctuate
Of course, the underlying gold price also moves up and down, which can make comparison more difficult. The easiest way to compare value is to look at the premium, the amount over and above the intrinsic gold price. We usually express this as a percentage.
Standard Advice - Buy the Cheapest
Our standard advice about which gold coin to buy is to go for the lowest premium within reason. Sometimes one type of coin is available for less than normal prices, sometimes some coins are at higher than normal prices. These short term fluctuations can sometimes override our normal advice, at other times it can offer an interesting alternative.

We currrently have excess stock of many gold proof products and so are able to offer them at bullion prices - from as low as 5% - and as they are legal tender sterling they are also Capital Gains Tax free as well as being VAT free.
