Gold Sovereigns
We Sell Bullion Gold Sovereigns:-
Sovereigns are a smaller, more attractive, more historic, and probably better known coin than Krugerrands, therefore we believe it is worth paying a slight extra premium over and above Krugerrands, to buy sovereigns. If you can buy sovereigns for about 2% differential above Krugerrands, we believe this makes them a better long term buy. Currently for investors buying at least 50 sovereigns, the differential above Krugerrands is under 2%, sometimes as low as 1%, and this makes them our first choice. Naturally this is slightly subjective, and reflects our personal opinion. Consider though that if you were to buy sovereigns at our 100 piece rate, you could resell them privately as singles at 10% profit, and be very competitively priced. You could not make the same claim for Krugerrands.
Sovereigns also have the advantage of being exempt from C.G.T. (Capital Gains Tax) in the UK.
Stock Levels
As we are constantly buying and selling bullion sovereigns our stock levels vary considerably. Due to this, when placing an order you may experience a delay which can vary considerably. We will try to fulfil orders as soon as possible and if required we can post out an invoice upon cleared payment.
Update - November 2011*
Due to the recent increase in the price of gold and subsequently increase in bullion sovereign orders, we are currently experiencing delays of approximately 5 - 6 months. You may still place an order and orders will be fulfilled in rotation.

Newly Minted Supply & Delivery Dates
For newly minted sovereigns, we normally carry stocks ( we often buy 5,000 pieces in one delivery), but when demand rises unpredictably, we are then reliant on supplies from the Royal Mint, which does have a monopoly, and this can often be around two months.
August 2011**
The Royal Mint have now reached the issue limit on 2011 sovereigns and are unable to produce any back dated coins. Any orders for more than one coin will now have to wait for the delivery of 2012 sovereigns - we expect this to be in November 2011.

Gold Investment Advice - We Were Right
On our "Gold Investment Advice" page, we gave our opinion that it was worth paying a reasonable premium to buy sovereigns as opposed to bullion bars or modern bullion coins, because you get the potential numismatic premium for very little. We were proved right, as sovereign have continued to be harder to source since 2008, and their market premiums are under upward pressure.
Don't be a Lemming
Although many dealers charge more for sovereigns than we do, we prefer to sell them at what we believe to be a more sensible price. By going against the market like this, it means that our demand will outstrip our supply in the shorter or medium terms. We have many other gold investment products available at prices and premiums which are lower than our competitors. These include newly minted sovereigns, one ounce bullion coins, and gold bars. Availability of these other items does vary as well. Please contact and ask our advice if you are unsure.
