Ten Ounce Gold Coins Australian Chinese Lunar Calendar

Chinese Lunar Calendar
The Chinese lunar calendar runs in a twelve year cycle. Each year is denoted by its symbol.

Perth Mint Lunar Series
The Perth Mint in Western Australia produces the world's finest range of gold bullion coins, not to mention their silver and platinum ranges. The designs change every year, and the design and production qualities are superb. We at Chard Coins are the sole Prime distributor for these in the UK.
The lunar series are produced in eight different sizes and weights, including the 10 ounce versions featured on this page.
If you are looking for an interesting and unusual gift, then these large and impressive gold coins take some beating!

Brief History
The Chinese Lunar Calendar is based on a 12 year cycle, each year in the cycle is associated with a different animal. The Perth Mint in Australia started issuing series of Chinese Lunar Calendar Coins, in gold and silver, in 1996, which was the Year of the Rat. We rarely manage to buy any of the older years, which tend to be very hard to source. We recommend that you buy this year's coins while we still have them available.
The 2005 lunar year of the rooster (cockerel) will run from February 9th 2005 to January 28th 2006.
