The obverse featuresin relief the bust of Victor Hugo, with the inscription: -
"QUAND LA LIBERTE REVIENDRA, JE REVIENDRA"

The reverse features, also in relief a map of the Channel Islands with the coastline of France and England, with the inscription: -
